The Invisible Web

Devotional:

A few years ago, while sleeping on my friend’s couch, God gave me a dream. In this dream, I was walking through this junkyard, led by someone I used to know. As I followed them, I was eventually entangled into this large cobweb that I couldn’t see. I could feel the oppression and captivity, but couldn’t see it because I was so focused on the person leading me.

When you look at your life, what’s leading you? Better yet, who’s leading you? In this dream, God was revealing the trap the enemy had set for me. He wanted me to follow the leading of my past, instead of following God’s perfect, chosen path.

I must mention, this dream came about a month before I left Milwaukee to go to Houston. A month before, I would break the shackles that sought to keep me captive in enemy territory. Right before my breakthrough, the enemy sought to distract me and entangle me in his web.

How many of you are currently walking into the invisible webs of the enemy because your past is leading you? It’s time you open your eyes and set your gaze on the “new thing” God is doing in your life this season.

Scripture(s) Meditation:

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."

Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV

Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below.

What is the “new thing” that God desires to bring forth in your life, this season? What are the “invisible webs” that the enemy has set?
