Devotional:
Very often we mention “the journey,” while simultaneously remaining in a place of stagnancy. The purpose of a journey is that it leads you somewhere, and requires movement. Even if the movement isn’t physical, then it must show up in some other area of our lives. Rather that be, mentally, spiritually or even emotionally. Simply put, our journey moves us constantly from one version of ourselves to the next. Ever evolving, ever changing.
We must grow to believe in the temporary nature of a journey. So many of us have taken residence in temporary tents that could never withstand permanent conditions. And in doing so, face more opposition and resistance than we would, had we just continued “the journey.” Because at least on “the journey,” nothing lasts forever. Rather you think of this physically, or from a mental perspective, you empower yourself to just pass through.
It’s time to remind yourself that you’re on “the journey,” and that it requires your movement. Speak to the current situations in your life that have stalled you, and let them know you gotta go. Tell poverty, I’m only passing through. Tell anxiety, I’m only passing through. Tell whatever Goliath stands in your path, I’m only passing through. Because you now realize, the greatest version of you, lies in your desire to just continue moving forward on “the journey”…

Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below.
What has “the journey” been like for you? Have you found yourself struggling with stagnation and idleness? Why is that so? How will “the journey” mentality, help you move past the stagnation, even if that means no physical moves?
