Surrender is a spiritual construct, that has intricately woven and delicate pieces. Each aspect, serves to draw us closer to God. As we surrender, we notice how life can be lived with ease. How life can finally be an experience we breathe through and not suffocate from.
One day while praying as walking through the forest, I noticed a tree. This tree wasn’t placed vertically in the ground as the ones in the city. But it appeared to be strategically placed in the ground to grow horizontally. How could something so large in size and heavy in weight, grow against its’ own nature?
What its’ placement revealed, is the true nature of surrender. Instead of following the status quo, it surrendered to God’s perfect will. Which in turn, produced a spectacle so unique that it stood out from the rest.
I guess, it makes me question, how great of a sight would we be if we fully surrender to God’s plan and leave the path most traveled behind?
"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."
Romans 12:2 NIV
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
