A Harmonious Love Story (10/05/22)

Devotional:

Introducing, the love story of Isaac and Rebekah. This will be a symbolic representation of the number ten and what God means when He says to trust Him with your marriage covenant.

The word harmony comes from the Greek Word sumphónésis (#4857). This Greek word is the base root for the English word symphony. A symphony is a harmonious arrangement of different musical notes that come together to form a beautiful piece. As I analyze the love story of Isaac and Rebekah, you will see how the individual parts come together to make a beautiful whole.

In our devotional earlier this week, we focused on the prophetic significance of the number ten. You learned that Yod represents the presence of God in every situation. Also, you learned that this number connects to the Hebrew word Eser, which denotes a completed cycle. When a cycle is completed, there's a sense of fulfillment/peace/wholeness. Otherwise in this case known as harmony.

How many of you know that when it's your appointed time, God will send an angel? (God did this also when transitioning the Israelites out of Egypt) This angel will be on assignment to ensure everything is in the proper place and working together on schedule to accomplish God's word. In this case, the angel ensured that a relative of Abraham would be at the well and would respond in the way that the servant sought. The servant didn't need to manipulate anything because God (Yod) had already set everything in place. Notice how he even brought ten camels to signify a completed cycle as well.

Despite any worries the servant had, Rebekah was already anointed to be the wife of Isaac. This would be the point where she transitioned from anointed to appointed. From prophesied to, to a fulfillment of prophecy. From the gold bracelets Rebekah received to her family even trying to delay her, we see the significance of the number ten. Even her own family couldn't stop this marriage from occurring. Because again, it was God's "Appointed Time."

Simply put, when a cycle is completed, He sends an angel before you that sets everything into place. All we have to do is be in the right position and allow God to interweave all the pieces together. When you've reached this place, there's harmony because God is orchestrating the show.

Scripture(s) Meditation: bolded emphasis added by me

“Then the servant took ten of his master’s camels and departed"

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭24:10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Now let it be that the young woman to whom I say, ‘Please let down your pitcher that I may drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink’—let her be the one You have appointed for Your servant Isaac."

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭24:14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“So it was, when the camels had finished drinking, that the man took a golden nose ring weighing half a shekel, and two bracelets for her wrists weighing ten shekels of gold,”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭24:22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“But her brother and her mother said, “Let the young woman stay with us a few days, at least ten; after that she may go.””

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭24:55‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
